Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund
The Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) provides steady, long-term funding for small, rural and northern communities to develop and renew their infrastructure. The total fund is increasing from $100 million per year to $300 million per year by 2018-19.
Who is eligible?
Municipalities must meet 1 of the following criteria:
Those with a population of less than 100,000, as determined by the Statistics Canada’s final 2011 census data, or
Those located in Northern Ontario (i.e., all areas north of, and including, the districts of Parry Sound and Nipissing)
Local Services Boards (LSBs)
LSBs that own water and/or wastewater systems are eligible to receive the minimum grant of $50,000 per year.
