FAQ 2 (b): Naming and Registering Your Business

Make sure that you choose the right name for your business. Your business name should be unique and easy to remember, and should describe the products and services you provide. Click on Naming Your Business to find out more about what you need to consider when selecting the best-suited name to identify your business.

Business Registration

As indicated on the Business Start-Up Checklist, before you open your doors for business you will need to register your business with municipal, provincial and federal levels of government. Once you complete these steps, you’ll have the necessities such as a Business Number, registered business name and a GST/HST account.
