Make sure that you choose the right name for your business. Your business name should be unique and easy to remember, and should describe the products and services you provide. As indicated on the Business Start-Up Checklist, before you open your doors for business you will need to register your business with municipal, provincial and federal levels of government. Once you complete these steps, you’ll have the necessities such as a Business Number, registered business name and a GST/HST account.

Business Registration On-line (BRO) is available to assist you in registering your business with Canada Revenue. This on-line service will help you ensure that you have completed all the required steps to successfully register your business.
