Elgin/St. Thomas Small Business Enterprise Centre

The Elgin/St. Thomas Small Busines Centre is hosting a series of workshops and events in 2020! If you are a business in the area, be sure to check them out by visiting their main events page here.

Some of the events you can look forward to are:

  • Build Your Business Identity: "This targeted workshop will take you through the elements of why and how to build a business identity. You will come away knowing what makes up your business identity, what is a brand, and how to develop your brand strategy to attract your potential customers."

  • Business Model Canva: "In this 2 hour workshop, we will walk you through the 9 building blocks of the Business Model Canvas. These 9 categories represent the four major aspects of a business; customers, offer, infrastructure, as well as financial viability."

  • 2 Day Business Plan Boot Camp: "Having a challenging time writing a business plan? Let us help. Two jam-packed days strategically timed so that by the end of day 2, you will walk out with a strong first draft of a business plan."

  • Insurance Requirements for Your Small Business: "Join Sarah Groeneweg and Tom Hughes from Locke Insurance Brokers to review insurance requirements for small business owners and answer your questions related to commercial insurance."

  • Starting a Food or Personal Services Business: "Meet local inspectors Simran Saini and Rachel Dunbar as they share about legislative requirements under the Health Protection and Promotion Act for individuals interested in starting a food premise and a personal service setting, inspection process and paperwork required to be submitted to Public Health. We will also talk about how to obtain food handler certification."
