ECO Canada CO-OP Program

ECO Canada’s new CO-OP Program provides 50% of wage funding for employers who hire environmental students.
As part of Canada’s Work-Integrated Learning strategy, we are matching students with employers in the environmental sector to help them on the path to a bright career.
Funding for up to 16-weeks of paid student work-terms.
Students gain valuable on-the-job experience.
Employers increase their resource ability and talent pool.
Students: Current university or college students from an environmental program who are studying in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) qualify for our new Co-op Program. ECO will assist in matching students with employers for their work term.
Employers: ECO will provide up to 50% of a Co-op student’s pay in wage subsidies. Employers that hire students from underrepresented groups including women in STEM, indigenous students, recent immigrants, persons with disabilities, and first-year students may also qualify for additional funding (up to 70%). Employers must be willing to provide full-time work (5 days per week, 7.5 hrs per day) for a 16-week term duration in an environmental capacity to be eligible for funding.
Post-Secondary Institutions: We will be working closely with universities and colleges to help students bridge the school-to-work transition. ECO provides career support services to environmental students and professionals. We’re committed to youth employment in the environmental sector. Post-secondaries will receive support from ECO in marketing Co-op opportunities and placements.
