Career Ready Fund’s Auto Stream

Are you a manufacturing business looking to hire employees? You may be interested in the recently announced $14 million investment through Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development -Funding opportunity for Manufacturing sector.
Career Ready Fund’s Auto Stream initiative that provides students, recent graduates, and apprentices with experiential learning opportunities that will help them develop job-relevant skills in the automotive and advanced manufacturing sectors. This initiative is part of Driving Prosperity – the government’s plan to strengthen the competitiveness of Ontario’s automotive sector.
Experiential learning is a hands-on learning model where people learn by doing. The Career Ready Fund’s Auto Stream seeks to increase the quantity and quality of experiential learning opportunities available to postsecondary students, recent graduates, and apprentices in Ontario’s automotive manufacturing and advanced manufacturing sectors.
The fund will provide employers with incentives of up to $3,000 per placement or up to $5,000 for placements of participants with disabilities
organizations are eligible to submit a proposal:
(1) automotive and advanced manufacturing sector employers,
(2) industry associations,
(3) postsecondary institutions, and
(4) not-for-profit organizations.
*The ministry is requesting proposals that demonstrate at least one partnership within the auto and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Applicants are invited to submit a proposal through Transfer Payment Ontario, where they will find information about available funding, eligibility, and the process for submitting a proposal.
The deadline for submitting a proposal is 11:59 a.m. on February 25, 2020.
